The St. John’s Choir rehearses from 8:55 to 10:05 am on Sunday mornings before worship at 10:15.

We rehearse anthems several weeks in advance. Pre-marked scores are available at church and online, for those who would like extra preparation time at home. And, in the lead-ups to Christmas and Holy Week, we will schedule two additional non-Sunday rehearsals.

Join us for this monthly offering, led by an ensemble of twelve professional choristers, featuring music of Amy Beach, Martin Neary, and Herbert Howells. Choral Evensong, a contemplative liturgy, is one of the treasures of the Anglican tradition. At this service, the congregation participates mostly by allowing the clergy and choir to speak and sing on its behalf. Many find this frees them, in a busy world, to offer to God their own thoughts and prayers. A special Super Bowl-themed reception follows in Shears Hall. Sponsored by the Music Fund.
