The St. John’s Choir rehearses Wednesdays, 7:30–9:00 pm. Please email Director of Music, Dr. Karl Robson, if you are interested in singing this spring, or find him at the organ bench after worship.

Additionally, Karl is envisioning a reinvigorated program for young singers at St. John’s. Please be in touch with him if you are a parent looking for extra musical education for your children.

The St. John’s Choir will join the choir of St. Alban’s, Annandale in offering a service of Choral Evensong for Pentecost. St. John’s will host the service. St. John’s Director of Music, Karl Robson, and his husband—St. Alban’s Director of Music, Adam Detzner—have frequently collaborated like this in the past and are excited to do so again! Please come support our choir on their last Sunday of the program year.

Choral Evensong follows substantially the order found in The Book of Common Prayer of 1662, with psalms, Bible readings, and the Songs of Mary and Simeon: Magnificat and Nunc dimittis. The prayers, hymns, and anthems come from many centuries of the Christian Church. At Evensong we participate mostly by allowing the minister and choir to speak and sing on our behalf. Many find this frees them, in a busy world, to offer to God their own thoughts and prayers
