How to Give
At St. John's Church, we are truly alive with the Holy Spirit - touching lives, growing as a parish community, reaching out to the world. We have in place all the elements of a more wonderful community: the people who are members of this parish and who step up to lead us and help with the ministries; a talented, thought-provoking and spiritual staff; a beautiful space to enjoy.
We recognize that all we are and all we have are gifts from God. As stewards of God's bounty and goodness, we ask you to join with us and others in making or renewing your pledge. Only with your support will we achieve the sense of purpose and the sense of fulfillment that comes from being an active part of God's Church on earth.
E-Giving
E-giving is now available for contributions to St. John's Church. Contributions can now be made either by electronic funds transfer or by credit card (Master Card, Visa, or Discover Card).
The Vestry is pleased to make E-giving possible. The convenience to the donor comes at a cost to the church. Credit card transaction fees are 2.5% of the amount of the contribution plus .25 per transaction. Electronic Funds Transfers are subject to a transaction fee ranging from .50 to .20 per contribution, depending upon the number of parishioners who use the E-giving service. Please consider these transaction fees when making your contribution. Stewardship envelopes will still be available.
The St. John's Society -- Planned Giving
Planned gifts are gratefully received. Information about making a Planned Gift can easily be provided by either Jack Hannon or Laurie Kent, Co-chairs of the Planned Giving Committee. Planned gifts include bequests, the designation of life insurance or IRA proceeds, or other forms of giving through estate planning. Donors who make a Planned Gift in the amount of $2,500 or more become members of the St. John’s Society. To reach Jack Hannon or Laurie Kent, please call Debora Williams at the Parish Office.
Every Member Commitment Campaign
Planning to set aside some of your income regularly is a spiritual discipline, like a prayer. It reminds us of the blessings God gives us each day, and continually returns to God a portion of those gifts. You pledge also enables the Vestry to plan for the coming year's ministries - enabling us to turn anticipated resources into tools for ministry.
Year End Giving
Please remember that to be acknowledged by the church as tax-deductible in 2009, donation checks must be placed in the offering plates by Sunday, December 27, or sent through the mail with a December 2009 postmark.
Gifts of securities, which are gratefully accepted, must be received into the St. John's Church account by the end of the year to be acknowledged as tax-deductible in 2009. To assure transfer before the end of the year, please plan to complete gift transactions by December 20.
Call Debora Williams in the Parish Office for transfer information.
